I&E Designer

We are seeking a I&E Designer for an opportunity in the Pascagoula, MS area. This is a contract position, working a 9/80 schedule.

This position will support I&E design projects as an individual contributor and may guide a team of designers and CAD operators supporting multi-discipline projects.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, preferably AA in Drafting & Design
• At least 10 years of proven experience as an I&E Designer, Preferred Oil and Gas Experience
• Knowledge and application of company engineering design and CAD drafting standards
• Proficient knowledge of 2D AutoCAD
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Familiarity with project scope, specifications and design criteria upon assignment to a project task team.
• Familiarity with the current NEC code
• Familiarity with specifications and installation details of construction bulk materials and equipment.
• Producing installation details, motor control center single lines, electric room layouts, motor control elementary diagrams, connection diagrams, cable schedules, control panel layouts and grounding, lighting, power and instrumentation plans under limited supervision.
• Ability to size wire, conduit and overcurrent protection for both lighting and power applications.
• Ability to perform voltage drop calculations.
• Ability to route conduit and cable tray.
• Ability to calculate tray and conduit fill.
• Ability to determine motor control center loading.

Responsibilities:

• Provides I&E design support for shutdown/turnaround projects, routine maintenance and capital installations.
• Coordinates with I&E Engineers to determine job scope and generate design packages.
• Forecasts project completion dates for sharing with Lead I&E Designer, customers and Designs Engineering Team Leaders.
• Provides completed design packages that meet Safety in Designs requirements and Engineering Standards.
