How you'll make an impact:

This position resides within the Corporate Finance organization and is responsible for modeling and analysis around Sirius XM's $6 billion subscriber revenue, cash receipts, and related metrics. This position will have an opportunity to collaborate with Marketing, Subscriber Forecasting, Accounting, and Business Operations to come to a consensus on the assumptions of the subscription revenue model. Additionally, this position will be responsible for revenue analytics and ownership of revenue metrics, including reported ARPU, package take rates, and subscription plan mix. This is a highly visible position critical to forecasting top line growth and evaluating the company's pricing and packaging structure as well as analyzing various revenue strategies.

What you'll do:

• Subscription revenue modeling: Redesign subscription revenue models and related outputs to improve accuracy, increase flexibility for adding new plans and pricing structures, and to quickly identify inconsistencies and errors in the forecast. This type of modeling should consider factors such as pricing, acquisition plan mix, plan migration rates, Satellite vs Streaming services, retention rates and other relevant metrics. This requires some creativity in model building given all the variables with this business along with the variety of plans and payment options SXM provides for its consumers.
• Customer Lifetime Value Analysis: Work with Marketing Analytics to compile subscriber data and build financial models for calculating customer lifetime value by plan type and by various customer segments. This should include current and future subscription plans, so relevant changes customer behavior or plan changes driven by marketing can be isolated in terms of calendarized revenue and subscriber impacts and reported up to senior management.
• Data Analysis: Work with large sets of data to extract and synthesize subscriber and plan mix information for modeling purposes. This includes collecting and organization of relevant data to drive decisions in modeling as well as potentially utilizing statistical techniques and data mining methods to identify patters and trends in customer behavior.
• Work with Marketing team to manage revenue initiatives for and ensure that they are properly implemented within the overall SXM subscription model. This includes price optimizing strategies within retention, new strategies within acquisitions, as well as other pricing actions within the subscriber base.
• Scenario Modeling: Conduct scenario analysis to assess the impact of various business decisions on subscription revenue and ARPU. Provide relevant insights to senior management.
• Prepare rolling forecasts of subscriber revenue and cash receipts. Work closely with Marketing to ensure the latest strategies are incorporated in the plan.
• Use automation tools to speed up the close process and to update actuals within the subscription models. Continuously improve the modeling process to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Perform other duties as assigned. May require occasional travel.

What you'll need:

• Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting required. MBA preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Financial Planning & Analysis position, preferably at a subscription-based company. Minimum of 3 years in a function requiring complex excel modeling.
• Basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Knowledge of revenue recognition principles is preferable.
• In depth knowledge of Excel required and working knowledge of Hyperion Essbase preferred. Experience with SQL, Access or other database language a plus.
• Ability to work with individuals in various functions across an organization and manage tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to pay attention to details and be organized - the output of work generated by the candidate will have exposure to the Senior Leadership team.
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
