What You Can Expect Working in the Production Lead Position
The Production Lead is a “working” lead, working under the direction of the Fabrication and Production Manager, and plans, directs, and coordinates activities of workers engaged in processing materials and assembling parts in the construction of blast-resistant, modular buildings and other industrial buildings. As a Production Lead, you are integral in supporting RedGuard’s goal of delivering customers a quality product on time. In this role, you will aid in the compliance of safety and quality standards. The Production Lead is an experienced construction worker, meeting all of the criteria of a Shop Technician.
Responsibilities
- Works with the Fabrication and Production Manager to coordinate worker activities, escalating any work or personnel problems as needed.
- Reviews production schedules and estimations of worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment with Production Supervisor and delegates work assignments based on team members skills and experience.
- Ensures work is completed safely, effectively, and in a timely manner.
- Supports workers in construction methods, operation of equipment and tools, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Analyze worker or production problems and use of equipment to recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Corrects and reports unsafe working items or actions.
- Ensures cleanliness of the production work areas (indoor and outdoor).
- Performs activities of workers supervised.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years of construction-related experience.
- 1 years of experience working with blast-resistant and other industrial, modular buildings.
- Strong knowledge of the construction field, including skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical and/or HVAC.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a forklift.
- Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with a manufacturing inventory and ERP software (such as Sage JobOps).
Supervisor Responsibilities
This job does have supervisory responsibilities including the oversight of work of up to 20 team members. As a people manager, you will coach and develop employees in alignment with company policies and values, referring more serious concerns to the Production Supervisor. You will be the direct contact for team questions and concerns and will support your team to maximize operational success.
