Job Summary: The Fire Watch Attendant will be responsible for proactively scanning the building floor by floor assessing potential fire hazards. It will be essential that the Fire Watch Attendant supports and integrates Sizemores core values of Flexibility, Improvement, Reliability, Safety and Teamwork into the daily performance of assigned responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively scan for potential hazardous threat.
- Perform fire watch floor by floor throughout the building and penthouse area every hour.
- Assess hazards in the workplace.
- Ensure safety protocols are adhered to throughout the watch.
- Summon for emergency assistance if necessary.
- Report all fire safety concerns to appropriate points of contact via walkie talkie.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- Demonstrate a commitment to service and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor.
- Possess patience, tact, enthusiasm as well as diplomacy when dealing with any person no matter the circumstances.
- Possess initiative and sound judgement in evaluating and reacting to situations.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure in potential stressful and time sensitive situations.
- High attention to detail, including the ability to prioritize.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and process information with accuracy and clarity.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and written.
- Fire-watch experience is desired but not necessary.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Working Conditions:
- Work will be performed in an environment with varying temperatures and weather conditions.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, walk, and climb stairs for the duration of the shift.
