About the Company
Essex Food Ingredients is seeking an experienced, organized individual to support our Supply Chain team as a Freight Coordinator. Under the supervision of the Supply Chain Manager, the Freight Coordinator is responsible for ensuring safe, quality-minded, and efficient carrier assignment to all freight for Essex Food Ingredients. This role will regularly interact with a diverse range of functions, both internal and external to the Essex Food Ingredients.

Qualifications
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Transportation Management System (TMS) Administration
- Lead improvements within the TMS operating system to meet operational targets.
- Oversight of Rail/Intermodal Freight Tracking
- Oversight of third-party shipping lanes and expedited / time critical services.
Freight Tracking and Management
- Daily Tactical Freight Routing of inbound and out-bound routes.
- Freight Reconciliation of Inbound goods; resolves discrepancies.
- Communication with Carriers, Suppliers, and warehouses regarding rates, routing, and web site navigation
- Responsible for the movement of goods to the 3PL/satellite SSDI warehouses
- Resolves Carrier related issues (e.g. damaged, lost, short shipments and service-related issues.
- Schedules Direct shipments from Suppliers.
Reporting and Claims Processing
- Reporting of on-time delivery shipments
- Compile Freight Claim data
- Reporting & analysis of Carrier Billing Errors, performance against KPI’s, etc.
- Reports on compliance with DOT, FISMA, HAZMAT, and other requirements enterprise-wide
- Input of Freight Matrix data
- Support and maintenance of service agreements and insurance compliance
Support to Staff and Other Departments
- Obtain freight rates (in-bound & Out-bound).
- Resolves freight issues quickly and responsibly.
- Verify and update SOPs to meet the needs of the customer.
- Actively engage in Root Cause Analysis and Corrective actions
Clerical/General Administrative
- Respond to routine emails, phone calls, etc.
- Make copies, print documents, mail delivery, etc.
- File paperwork
