Job Summary
We are currently looking for a dedicated, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Production Planner. The Production Planner reports to the Director of Operations and has overall responsibility for the Blending and Batching Schedule within the Blending Department. Primary responsibilities include daily production scheduling, CBI Inventory Management, food safety, and compliance activities within our SQF/GMP program, batching methods, general procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Plans, schedules, and coordinates departmental activities to; fulfill orders, meet inventory requirements, and deliver quality products on time. Revises production schedules and priorities as a result of changes to equipment, production, inventory, or any other situation that may arise.
Plans, schedules, and coordinates, the procurement of internal and external inventory requests to facilitate scheduled production runs. Works with purchasing and warehouse to achieve proper inventory; levels, costs, and timing. Manages inbound, outbound, and process inventory, within the 1101 blending site.
Creates and maintains blending item records, BOMs, routings, and all supporting elements within an MRP/MPS structure. Creates, manages, and reviews production work orders.
Identifies opportunities for improvement in production planning, process, equipment, and personnel.
Ensures all necessary information related to production are communicated to proper personnel across the business.
Prints and performs accuracy checks on production-related labels. This includes Work in Progress Material (WIP) and finished goods labeling.
Works closely with all departments at the facility including accounting, maintenance, quality assurance, and warehousing. Works with divisional staff as appropriate. Works with outside vendors where appropriate.
Occasional communication and alignment with Blending Customers and their Sales and Customer Service representatives.
Maintain strict compliance with all regulatory agency standards, internal Food Safety program (SQF), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Foster an environment of accountability and continuous improvement
Responsible to communicate issues related to Food Safety, Quality, processes, and equipment which become noncompliant with specified requirements.
Responsible to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.

Position Details
- Receives customer orders by phone, email, customer website or EDI.
- Enters orders and data into system (Sage X3) for processing, including proper ship dates, locations, correct pricing, and freight carriers. Confirms shipped orders and starts the invoicing process.
- Receives, acknowledges, and documents customer complaints using the Customer Experience tool and takes necessary action to resolve issues.
- Communicates across multiple departments to ensure smooth processing of customer orders including Purchasing, Sales, and the Warehouse.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Knowledge and skills comparative to completion of a Bachelors degree preferred
- 2-3 years of professional experience in production planning or scheduling preferred
- Advanced attention to detail and accuracy in all work required
