Summary
As the Escrow Compliance Specialist, your role is essential for performing and implementing business processes that meet standard compliance regulations and best business practices in the title & escrow industry.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and review reports to prevent error-related shortages and claims (Trial balance monthly, undisbursed proceeds and payoffs daily, reviewing and monitoring of lag reports including positive and negative balances, outstanding checks, etc.)
- Daily bank deposits
- Outstanding checks/escheatment
- Stop payment requests
- Research complex post-closing requests
- Back-up on scanning and disbursements for high volume, sick and vacation coverage
- Compliance with ALTA Best Practices
- Serve as point of contact for escalations, researching reason for potential loss and resolving if possible
- Assist with claims and underwriter audits
- Work closely with the business leadership to assist with the improvement of various business processes
- Provide project support to other areas of the organization
- Assist customers with day-to-day issues, requests for HUDs, copies of closing docs, questions, etc.
Required Skills & Experiences
- 1-2 years escrow compliance experience preferred
- Knowledge of title and escrow practices and standard audit/regulatory guidelines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Ability to gather and analyze data, synthesize information, and prepare detailed reports
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational and analytical skills, and initiative to improve processes
- Driven problem-solver with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work as both a team player and leader
- Comfort with constant change and process improvement
