SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Purpose and function of job.
The Gastropub Host is responsible for prompt, friendly greeting and proper seating of all guests of the restaurant and ensuring the smooth operation of the front of the restaurant.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:
List duties in order of time spent or importance. Essential duties and tasks that must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
Provides information on all aspects of available services and facilities for guests.- Greets guests and arrange seating; monitor room atmosphere.
- Quotes accurate waiting times and handle guest waiting lists or reservations in accordance with established procedures.
- Answers phones according to established procedures.
- Assists guest with reservation via phone and in person.
- Assists guest with special request.
- Communicates with co-workers and supervisor to ensure quality service.
- Maintains seating log and directs the flow of work for both wait staff and bus persons.
- Assists wait staff as necessary.
- Provides prompt, friendly greeting and proper seating of all guests of the restaurant.
- Ensures the smooth operation of the front of the restaurant.
- Complies with all department and company rules and regulations.
- Attends periodic meetings and training sessions.
- Presents oneself in a neat and clean appearance at all times.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Education, experience, skills required, equipment used.
Must be at least 18 years old, possess a high school or equivalent diploma and have the ability to obtain the appropriate licenses pursuant to California regulations.
