Platform Engineer

Summary: Sky Solutions is a technology staffing/consulting firm with over 10 years of experience in helping our clients with their needs on different technologies. Currently, we have a position as Platform Engineer with one of our clients.

Role: AWS Platform Engineer

Duration: Long Term

Location: Remote

Job Description: 

• Strong AWS architecture design experience. (Preferred 6 years of experience)
• Extensive experience with EC2,S3,VPC,IAM,RDS , EKS and CodeCommit - IS A NICE TO HAVE. 
• Experience with AWS services like ACM,Route53 , SSM , Lamda,Auto-scaling
• Must have experience with Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools like Ansible , Terraform  and fluency in the associated programming languages like Python , Shell scripting
• Network troubleshooting including AWS networking capabilities and security protocols
• Experience interacting with an infrastructure via the AWS CLI

• Strong scripting skills preferably in Python, Perl , Unix shell scripting
• Good Understanding and experience with  the container technologies (Kubernetes/Docker)

• Knowledge of SSL certificates management
• Extensive experience supporting software development projects utilizing AWS technologies. Past roles may include systems architect, software developer, and/or systems engineer.
• Experience in programmatically balancing variable load patterns and optimizing cloud elasticity
• Champion Agile best-practices, processes, and tools in support of DevOps processes
• Experience developing automation solutions and working in a highly automated environment
• Experience developing automation solutions and working in a highly automated environment
• Provide cross training and /or knowledge transfer to colleagues as necessary, particularly on the AWS platform.
• Document processes and procedures in managing and securing infrastructure making sure best practices are always followed.
• Knowledge of baseline and operations inside a cloud environment
• Must be willing to work in pair programming setup . Video on during the collaboration calls.
• Must be willing to be Production On-Call support
