What are the responsibilities and job description for the Revenue Analyst position at Skydio?
About the role: We are seeking a talented Revenue Analyst with high-growth start-up experience and a solid understanding of GAAP revenue recognition rules. The Revenue Analyst will be responsible for owning all aspects of revenue recognition such as booking journal entries, reconciling accounts and performing month-end / year-end reviews. This role will report to the Sr. Manager, Revenue.
How you'll make an impact:
- Assist in monthly revenue close procedures including preparation of revenue and deferred revenue-related journal entries, reconciliations and close tasks.
- Perform key analyses and reconciliations for deferred revenue, accrued revenue, commissions and other related accounts.
- Perform analyses on contract assets, contract liability and unbilled AR including preparation of roll forward schedules and calculation of the short-term / long-term reclasses.
- Review revenue recognition treatment for new products and changes in pricing / packaging.
- Perform quarterly SSP studies and update the methodology as needed.
- Review arrangements with multiple performance obligations and assess allocations.
- Research new revenue accounting guidance. Assist in the adoption and documentation of such guidance.
- Partner with Business Systems and other teams to improve / automate revenue recognition process and establish comprehensive reporting.
- Support annual financial statement audit by maintaining proper records and responding to auditor inquiries for all revenue recognition items.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and support special projects as required.
What makes you a good fit:
- 4 years of revenue experience, ASC 606 experience required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
- CPA / Big4 experience is preferred.
- Experience with NetSuite (especially ARM module) and SalesForce is preferred.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, high-growth company where adaptability is imperative.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred experience with multi-product industry (hardware, software, services, SaaS).
- Proficient in Excel and GSuite products.
- Demonstrate ability to learn quickly and pick up new skills.
Compensation Range: The annual base salary range for this position is $100,000-120,000*. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. In addition to base salary, Skydio full-time employees are eligible to enroll in our benefit plans and take advantage of a variety of incentives and stipends.
