Maintenance Supervisor - Gardens of Somerset - Monroe, LA

Position Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the performance of varied duties to install, repair, troubleshoot, repair and maintain facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.

Essential Job Duties

• Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain facility equipment.

2. Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of facility as needed and performs scheduled maintenance repairs to avoid disturbing the facility’s schedule.

3. Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.

4. Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.

5. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

6. Supervises Maintenance Department staff to ensure that Technician(s) performance of varied duties are executed properly and safely.

7. Coordinates the schedule for major or periodic vehicle maintenance with management and staff to minimize service interruptions.

8. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.

9. Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.

10. Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.

11. Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.

12. Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.

• Arranges transportation and occasionally drives the Company vehicle to transport residents to and from events.
• Operates the assigned vehicle in a safe and courteous manner in accordance with all applicable laws.

15. Oversees, monitors, and works closely with the Community’s landscaping company to ensure that the Community’s grounds and landscaping are meticulously maintained.

16. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Required Experience:

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) is preferred.
• Must meet all healthcare requirements, including Tuberculosis skin test.
• Must be in positive standing with all healthcare agencies.
• An Associates’ degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
• Two (2) years prior maintenance supervisory experience required.
• Must have current driver’s license.
• Must have an acceptable driving record and meet all requirements as determined by the Company’s automobile insurance carrier as insurable driver.
• Must be in positive standing with all healthcare agencies, including the Direct Services Workers Registry.

Mental Demands:

Work requires adherence to precise procedures and standards involving a high degree of accuracy in observing, recording and reporting data. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange information accurately.

This position is very active and requires constant standing/walking and repetitive motions, frequent bending/stooping, reaching, lifting/handling, pushing/pulling and occasional carrying.
