This position is responsible for the preparation and processing of payroll for the weekly/hourly-paid employees to include providing financial reporting information. The Payroll Administrator manages the workflow between payroll, HR and supervisors to ensure timely and accurate processing. The position also handles various additional accounting functions as assigned including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Work on multiple payroll platforms, partnering with vendors on system administration, maintenance, and reporting needs when necessary. ie. SAP, ADP Workforce Now, Success Factor/Employee Central, UKG Time and Attendance.
Run daily time evaluation reports and review for accuracy notifying HR and/or supervisors of necessary corrections
Run weekly reports; review for accuracy; make appropriate entries into payroll system as needed; compile files and transmit to payroll provider
Balance payroll reports when received; run various reports; prepare journal entries; post grid and manual checks
Responsible for ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of weekly payrolls for employees located in multi-state.
Provides a high level of customer service to internal and external customers to answer questions/concern in a timely manner
Research and resolve discrepancies on checks - issuing additional checks/pay where necessary
Process special payrolls as required Maintain proper data integrity and confidentiality
Prepare and maintain the payroll procedure manual for all aspects of payroll
Assist AP and AR with basic departmental function such as weekly check run, monthly customer statements, and account maintenance. No experience is necessary, training will be provided.
Other duties and responsibilities as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED
3 Years Payroll processing
High level of attention to detail, accuracy and follow up
Must display high level of integrity in handling confidential information and exercise discretion
Possesses a customer service mindset and is able to flex personal style to work with diverse personalities
Possesses a sense of urgency for deadlines and ability to work well under pressure.
Problem solving and analytical ability, including the ability to manually calculate complex time events (double time/overtime/holiday, etc.)
Strong Excel skills
Strong understanding of federal and state tax laws
Systems experience using timekeeping/payroll system
