What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Specialist position at Smardt?
The Smardt family is growing and we need smar(d)t, motivated, flexible and solution-driven individuals to help us reach new levels.
We are looking to add a Parts Specialist to our team to handle all spare parts requests sent to the Service Department via service tickets/email/phone. Reporting to the Service Manager - North Americas, the ideal candidate will be flexible, great with clients and have wonderful problem-solving abilities. The schedule is 8am-5pm, but you may occasionally be required to work from 11am-8pm in the future.
What will your days look like in this position?
- Quoting
- Creating service orders
- Receiving purchase orders
- Create site/customer specific critical spare parts lists
- Ensuring customer follow ups
- Helping to manage spare parts inventory, including but not limited to:
- Working with purchasing to ensure on time delivery
- Forecasting spare parts inventory needs based on peak times of the year
- Interacting with warehouse
- Managing/replenishing warranty parts to customers
- Assisting with the RMA process
- Interacting with clients in the US and Canada
- Working internally with global business units to help supply spare parts as needed
What does it take be be a successful Parts Specialist?
- Bilingualism (written and spoken English and French)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Office 365 Suite preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Navision an asset
- Proficiency in ZenDesk an asset
- Basic shipping knowledge an asset
