General Summary
Under general supervision, the Bus Video and Telecommunications Coordinator is responsible for managing the implementation, maintenance and operation of the bus video and Toshiba Unified communications systems including related computer programs used to support these systems. The Coordinator will manage these systems by applying his/her knowledge of video and unified communications systems, procedures, and programming through utilization of software and hardware products in order to support Authority’s operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Bus Video
- Provides user support and resolves technical issues through use of telephone, e-mail and other electronic medium.
- Responds to user inquiries to assist in resolving hardware and/or software issues.
- Ensures user satisfaction through training, problem solving and technical assistance.
- Manages the install of the bus video system for bus replacement and/or expansion projects.
- Administers bus video system upgrades through vendor relations and IT staff.
- Administers bus video system maintenance through Authority maintenance electronic repair group.
- Evaluates failed video equipment for replacement.
- Manages replacement warranty items though vendor.
- Manages the integrity of the bus video system through the use of system software.
- Manages the archival storage system.
- Fulfills requests for portable electronic media of archives for external usage as directed. Provides technical assistance of the bus video system to outside counsel as instructed by Authority’s legal department.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Telecommunications – oversight responsibility of the following:
- Voice – Toshiba Unified communications system and PRI circuits
- Recordings
- Call centers
- Software updates
- Station repairs and replacements
- Installations, moves and changes for telephone and voice messaging systems
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Transportation Planning, Business Administration, or related field.
- Two years experience in diagnosing, testing and repair of video and telecommunication systems.
- One year experience in computer support duties.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for minimum requirements.
- Extensive knowledge of business application software systems (i.e. Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer).
- Knowledge of desktop computer client-server hardware operating systems and utility programs.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and local and wide area networking (LAN-WAN).
- Knowledge and understanding of bus video surveillance systems.
- Knowledge and understanding of bus video wiring.
- Knowledge and understanding of telecommunications systems.
- Group presentation ability.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
