What are the responsibilities and job description for the UX Researcher position at SmartBear?
Quality isn’t just a goal. It’s the whole point.
Our customers are under a lot of pressure to deliver great software. But to compress lifecycles, add features, and compete in a world where ‘every company is now a software company’ is hard. And one mistake can mean their reputation, even future. That’s why it’s our mission to help. At any part of their software development lifecycle (SDLC), we provide the tools and discipline to focus on quality while streamlining their processes. So our customers can create and deploy software that works as designed – especially when it’s needed most. And we’re looking for people to join us.
SmartBear seeks a UX Researcher who will be responsible for leading UX research for the One Report product. This individual will work closely with Product Management, Engineering, Product Design and Marketing teams to discover, validate, and ultimately build solutions to new SmartBear customer problems.
Responsibilities:
- Design and run a variety of research studies, including user testing, field studies, usability tests, concept tests, group discussions, and more
- Partner with Design, Product, Engineering, and Marketing colleagues to understand business needs
- Plan and execute end-to-end research activities to identify Jobs-to-be-Done and analyse customer needs
- Build user journeys and personas
- Collaborate to define the intent, development, testing, and refinement of prototypes
- Help foster a culture of experimentation through leading experiments and workshops
- Synthesise quantitative and qualitative data to drive smarter product and design decisions
- Follow an iterative design process alongside a lean-agile engineering process
Qualifications:
- The ability to communicate ideas clearly, both written and visually
- A bias for collaboration
- Broad experience of user research techniques and tools
- Presentation skills
- Ability to analyse data, with knowledge of appropriate data processing tools
- An interest in building user research capabilities cross-functionally
- As a bonus: a background in human-computer interaction, psychology, sociology, communication, or related fields
