Job Summary:
We are looking for an Account Manager with experience managing client’s meetings and events. You will be responsible for growing the client partnership by working directly with meeting professionals, event planners and operation departments, along with internal SmartSource staff to ensure client satisfaction and retention. The ideal candidate has a knowledge of supporting live events, the ability to guide and influence customers, detailed organizational skills, a history of understanding and achieving account sales budgets, and can work with internal company departments.
Responsibilities:
Coordinating internal and external resources and vendors for estimating and quoting to high level client executives and meeting professionals- Receive client RFPs, working with the solutions team and account executives through all elements leading up to invoicing
- Lead customer meetings / conference calls as trusted advisor to implement best solutions for meetings and events
- Be the first line of engagement for changes including additional equipment or labor
- Participate in review meetings with key account stakeholders
- Develop and maintain key account plans that identify opportunities for company to deliver value, strategic motivators, main stakeholders, buying processes and forecasted sales
- Demonstrated ability to grow both breadth and depth within existing accounts
- Develop and manage account to gain strategic positioning with decision makers, retain existing revenue and attain additional business
- Cultivate and convey persuasive sales messages and proposals
Requirements:
A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated professional account or internal project management experience, preferably with experience in the events field- Strong working knowledge of IT solutions for conferences and events
- Must be a strategic thinker and account seller
- Outstanding written and oral communications skills
- Effective time management skills, with strong organization and prioritization abilities
- Strong knowledge of MS Office; knowledge of CRM software (i.e., Salesforce) is also required
- A positive, can-do attitude with a desire to continually improve performance and take it to the next level
