Summary/Objective:

We are seeking a qualified individual to work in our client’s metal cutting shop using a variety of methods including Water Jet cutting. Plasma & Oxy-Fuel, Laser Cutting, Metal Forming, Metal Shearing, Aluminum Plate Saw, Drilling & Tapping, Rolling & Pipe bending. The Machinist position is responsible for processing orders that require machining of parts per order specifications and requirements. This role will ensure that assigned orders are processed in a safe and efficient manner, and to the quality standards described in our Quality Manual and applicable Procedures. The Machinist will ensure that product outputs conform to the all of the customer’s requirements and noted specifications, and that identified discrepancies are handled in an expedient manner by following the appropriate quality processes.

Role & Responsibilities:

·        Inspect equipment for safety and mechanical condition prior to use; initiate the appropriate actions for any identified discrepancies

·        Identify and handle materials to be machined per applicable procedures

·        Identify customer requirements which may include reading drawings or blue prints, and approach product related activities from the customer's perspective

·        Set up the equipment to machine parts per the work order, supporting documents, and all applicable procedures

·        Package and stage finished products

·        Complete the required job forms

·        Use the appropriate quality procedures and tools to initiate the management of discrepancies and opportunities

·        Ensure quality procedures are used correctly, so that products adhere to requirements

Training Requirements:

•                      Work Instruction for Machining

•                      CNC and Conversational programming

•                      Production Control Procedure

•                      Control of Nonconforming Product Procedure

•                      Work Instructions for General Mater Processing

•                      Work Instructions for Carbon Contamination Prevention

•                      Safety Training

•                      Equipment: Overhead Crane, Forklift, Mill, Lathe, Drill Press

Experience:

Minimum one (1) year experience in a metal shop environment. Trade school students encouraged to apply!
