Summary
Supervise all areas of production, maintenance and shipping/receiving to build and manage a successful team and safe plant working environment. Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:
·Establish a positive attitude of communication and cooperation with production, maintenance, and shipping/receiving efforts and responsibilities.
·Oversee day to day operations to ensure high quality product that meets customer order expectations. Provide a clear sense of direction, encouragement, accountability, and focus to employees.
·Oversee employee time management and temporary labor needs.
·Monitor inventory levels, track rail cars, notify purchasing, review production rate levels, and monitor down time.
·Oversee and review with Shift Supervisors: Production quality, scrap and reruns levels, customer returns and rejections.
·Review and input Production line scheduling, new and existing order changes, and monitor skipped orders.
·Establish positive, clear communication of information between all areas of production and office personnel.
·Ensure all plant employees (production, maintenance, and shipping) are following proper procedures and policies. Maximize equipment operation by oversight of timely machinery repairs and completion of preventative maintenance schedules.
·Responsible for monitoring and maintaining FDA compliance for plant, production, maintenance and shipping/receiving.
·Ensure proper and complete training of new employees and current employees.
·Monitor and evaluate employee performance. Address disciplinary actions, up to and including termination, according to company policy. Review employment applicants and interview prospective candidates.
·Meet weekly (or more as needed) with Shift Supervisors and Maintenance Supervisor.
·Review plant performance and recommend opportunities for improvements in safety, quality, productivity, maintenance, employee morale and capacity.
As Plant Manager, you are a member of the HACCP team. FDA and Food Safety Audit responsibilities include but are not limited to:
·Master all areas of HACCP compliance requirements, training, schedules, forms, logs, and materials.
·Oversee, delegate, and participate in, as needed, the scheduled completion of any unfinished repairs, preventative maintenance schedules, and program implementations as noted in Audit report.
·Create and implement required employee training schedules, forms, and materials.
·Create and implement required sanitation and cleaning schedules, forms, and materials.
·Lead daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections of all required areas, inside and outside the building, according to inspection schedules. Properly document inspections, inspection logs, CAR forms, and final resolution of CAR’s.
·Ensure proper training, guidance, and expectations of compliance with HACCP requirements by Shift Leaders, Production, Maintenance, and Shipping staff.
·Participate in HACCP team meetings as scheduled and required.
·Continue education and implementation of procedures compliant with Food Safety Programs.
