PURPOSE
The Engineer defines problems, conducts and narrows research, analyzes criteria, finds and analyzes solutions, and makes decisions. In this role, much of the quality engineer's time is spent researching, locating, applying, and transferring information.

PURPOSE

Essential Duties
- Creativity, innovation of assigned tasks and existing processes and/or product
- Reliability, be available to complete tasks as required by internal/external customer requirements
- Communicate internally in the department or with individuals directly associated with assigned tasks (verbal and written)
- Occasional travel; mainly for training purposes, customer support, or trade shows
- Take verbal and/or written directions on tasks, training, or department/company policies
- Provide verbal and or written results, a summary of tasks, or requests to various persons during the execution of tasks
- Produce the end product of requested tasks in the form of components, assemblies, drawings, data files, proposals, or reports.
- Utilize project management skills to plan and coordinate projects
- Organize, train, and facilitate problem-solving teams in using statistical-based, process improvement methods
- Provide quality planning input to new product introduction and special project teams
- Develop quality system documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and records
- Provide supplier quality assurance management, including supplier quality improvement, selection and assessments, and corrective action follow-up
- Coordinate implementation of inspection and test procedures on the production floor, including training
- Monitor compliance to Quality System requirements through internal auditing and corrective action follow-up, as required
- Provide support for the resolution of non-conforming material.
- Develop and implement statistical process-control methods for engineering, production, and warehouse processes where appropriate
- Coordinate resolution of customer product complaints
- Support the ISO 9001-based Quality System
- Develop and implement cost of quality measurements to focus the organization on continued improvement opportunities
- Coordinate customer complaints/requirements including supporting customer quality initiatives, visiting customer facilities to resolve issues, and/or supporting QA requirements
- Other duties as assigned to support company goals.
- Sustained posture in a seated position for prolonged periods
- The occasional physical demand of moving or rearranging files and file storage boxes, and or product
- Fast-paced office environment
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline or the equivalent in appropriate education and experience as determined by management
- Proficient with CAD software (Design & Manufacturing disciplines)
- Basic understanding of common manufacturing processes
- Good oral and written skills
- Ability to deal with internal and external customers tactfully and in a professional manner
