Job Summary: Responsible for leading and mentoring Metrology and Calibration Technician teams to ensure effective first article and statistical applications of new product development projects and while improving the reliability of current products and processes with effective monitoring and maintenance of quality equipment.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managing and assigning activities of department employees by providing technical support, guidance, direction, and solutions for workload &/or project specifics.
- Responsible for accurate and timely workload scheduling including resource allocation and equipment utilization to bring assignment to a successful completion.
- Generate necessary internal documentation and reports to support NDP objectives.
- Oversees company’s inspection equipment life cycle
- Strategies to establish or improve overall metrology standards, process controls, and inspection methods.
- Provides support to other company site’s metrology needs through effective PO and Sales Order management.
- Collaborates with customers and internal stakeholders to identify and resolve problems with product specifications and compliance to.
- Collaborates with Quality Assurance Manager to develop and execute projects supporting improved quality programs which satisfies all external standards and internal quality goals and objectives.
- Ensure departmental goals are aligned with business goals.
- Recommends new technology to improve quality, service, and decrease cost.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
- B.S. in Engineering with an emphasis on Metrology/ Inspection OR six years of related Quality Assurance experience OR ASQC/ASME Certification for Mechanical Inspection.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Solid understanding and application of GD&T and basic blueprint interpretation skills.
- Strong statistical and mathematic skills.
- Working knowledge of cGMP, ISO, FDA requirements, and other applicable regulations.
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment.
Desirable Qualifications:
- MS in a related field is preferred.
- Experience in the medical device industry preferred.
ADA Requirements:
- Typically sits, grasps items and performs keyboarding for frequent operation of a computer
- Stand, walk, bend, reach or otherwise move about occasionally
- Lift, move or otherwise transfer items up to 50 lbs. occasionally
- Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards which may require respiratory protection
