What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Tech position at SMC?
Actively participates in the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu. Competently responds to patient crises with appropriate behavior management skills. Continuously communicates with others disciplines to ensure a safe therapeutic environment and follows through on problems that may compromise patients care. Consistently documents legibly, accurately and in a timely manner according to guidelines. Accurately bases observation and documentation on identified plans of care. Consistently exhibits therapeutic communication skills with patients. Effectively utilizes conflict management and de-escalation skills as necessary with patients. Willingly and safety transport patients to and from facility at request to coordinate/ designee. Communicate effectively. Establish and maintain to way communication with peers, staff, physicians and administration. Represents the hospital and program professionally and positive in the community. Appropriately adapts to change in a positive professional manner. Correctly identifies and uses appropriate personal protective equipment. Completes all other duties as assigned.
