The Payroll Supervisor leads a remote team of payroll specialists and a team lead supporting in-house payroll processing supporting approximately 40,000 employees across 43 U.S. states for 12 legal entities. This position will report to the Payroll Manager and works closely with corporate and field team members.
Salary Range
$59,500 - $88,000Core Responsibilities
- Problem solve, support field staff, and provide excellent customer service.
- Supervise payroll team members to ensure that they are meeting all requirements and goals.
- Supervise the timely, accurate preparation and release of paychecks.
- Review Payroll Specialist entries and processing results for accuracy.
- Audit timecard records for compliance following set Sarbanes Oxley controls.
- Analyze, balance and calculate paychecks.
- Approve off cycle pay records.
- Balancing of the prior day payments.
- Prepare and assess department KPI’s.
- Uphold contract requirements, federal, state, and local regulations, and departmental service level agreements.
- Oversee the garnishment process.
- Balance and transmit electronic payroll files.
- Provide leadership and guidance to plants using time and attendance software.
- Maintain current process documentation.
- Partners with Payroll Accounting team to ensure all accounts remain in balance

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in accounting, finance or related field and 2 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
- Experience acting as a lead or supervisor by providing training, guidance or mentoring to less experienced staff or managing processes and projects, preferred.
- Must demonstrate leadership qualities and supervisory skills.
- Moderate skill-set using Microsoft Office (outlook and Excel).
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Workday, Workforce Software, or in-house payroll processing experience preferred.
- Excellent Customer Service skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines to keep the Company in legal compliance.
- Ability to work well with others in a fast paced, dynamic, and remote environment.
- Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities
• Provides supervision and guidance to employees on the payroll team.• Indirectly helps supervise other payroll staff, which may include helping to align work load and training.
