JOB DESCRITION
Summary/Objective
The Warehouse Inventory Coordinator is responsible for supporting the management, storage and movement of raw material inventories for the Orrville Ice Cream manufacturing facility. This includes following corporate policies and best practices and developing an environment focused on team centric performance, safety and a continuous improvement mindset.

Department Duties
- Oversee inventory according to company guidelines
- Coordinate daily activities of warehouse associates to ensure duties are assigned and competed timely
- Process inventory orders, log items that have been received and taken from inventory,
- Ensure inventory is staged properly and on time for production use
- Ensure products are properly loaded and unloaded and items are placed within their proper location in the warehouse
- Ensure pallets are prepared and ready for shipments back to 3PL’s
- Ensure inventory is properly tagging for allergen identification
- Audit staging locations for inventory accuracy
- Investigate inventory requests, shortages or discrepancies and communicate corrective actions
- Perform inventory cycle counting and fiscal year end physical inventory count
- Ensure warehouse cleanliness is maintained
- Work with 3PL warehouse partners to ensure product is effectively handled, stored and shipped
- Oversee manufacturing master schedule and ingredient picklist
- Track and dispose of non-conforming or expired inventory
Work closely with production group leaders to identify, prioritize and resolve issues- Review and complete quality and production documentation relating to inventory control
- Create and review SOP’s to ensure best practices are followed to achieve an efficient warehouse
- Follow all company GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices)
- Operate tow motor and lift truck
Additional Duties
- Ability to learn and be proficient in WMS (Warehouse Management System)
- Support regular customer, regulatory and third party audits and inquires as required
- Assess and report out on warehouse productivity
- Live and promote our vision and mission
- Other duties as assigned for Safety, Food Safety Quality and Productivity
Corporate Duties
- Support corporate policies governing warehouse management, distribution processes, and activities
- Ensure compliance with the Food Safety Quality certifications of the facilities including but not limited to Grade-A fluid milk, HACCP, SQF3, FSMA
- Ensure that we adhere to all state and federal regulations in the areas of safety and food safety quality
- Ensure that we follow all company and customer standards
Required Duties of all Associates

Have a presence in the production environment leading and providing hands on training and guidance cross-functionally for assurance of nurturing a Food Safety Culture. Helping Associates understand the “Why” for what we do
Competencies
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint
- At ease in fast-paces and dynamic environment
- Strong time management skills, ability to multitask where appropriate
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving practices
- Ability to problem solve
- Able to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Able to work in an cold environment
- Able and willing to operate tow motor
Supervisory Responsibility/Reporting and Working Relationships
- Reports directly to Ice Cream Group Leader
- Interfaces with group leaders/managers/functional leads/key functional associates internal and external to SmithFoods operations
- Works closely with customers and vendors and other SmithFoods functional departments across all of the SmithFoods Facilities
Travel
- Occasional travel for training, customers and vendors
Education and Experience
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, mathematics, engineering or other related fields/or equivalent experience in similar role
- Two or more years’ experience in warehouse inventory control
- Ability to collect, analyze and draw conclusions based upon data and metrics
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Works both in the office and manufacturing environments with fluctuating temperature levels

Requires sitting, walking, standing, climbing, squatting (methods/movement necessary but not limited to inspecting area such as the following):
- Warehouse equipment, refrigerated cooler, freezer, exterior premises, trailers, receiving docks, etc.
