Architects (non-licensed), SmithGroup, Inc., sub. of SmithGroup Co. Inc., 450 North Third Street, Suite 250, Phoenix, AZ 85004:
The Architect (non-licensed) will prepare architectural drawings, renderings and design assignments under general supervision. He or she receives instruction on specific assignment objectives and independently provides solutions for these objectives. Job duties will include: Performs architectural assignments under general supervision. Coordinates drawings with drawings of other disciplines. Coordinates specifications with drawings to meet project requirements. Relates building design concepts to building codes, zoning ordinances and other external issues. Consults with manufacturers, researches and proposes materials and products. Participates in construction administration including responding to RFI's, preparing sketches and addendums (CCD's), visiting the construction site to gather information, prepare punch lists, and answer contractor questions as owner's representative. Advances designs developed by others. Creates and develops planning and design concepts for small projects. Independently assesses design requirements. Manages aspects of a project proactively and provides status updates to project leadership. Determines level of effort required for a given assignment and provides schedule input. Details internal and external features of a building. Ability to perform a quality review of their own work products. Has knowledge of basic drawing details and researches more complex details. Understands the process of project development from concept through construction. Understands building systems and their integration into the architecture. Prepares presentation drawings and otherwise assists in presentations both internally and externally. Creates graphics for inclusion in marketing proposals and materials. Researches information for marketing proposals and materials. Proficient with design software (CAD, Revit, Sketchup, Rhino, Lumion, etc.) as well as Microsoft Office. Telecommuting is permitted, 3 days a week. Must be able to commute to the Phoenix office as needed.
Minimum requirements: a bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent degrees accepted) in architecture, or a closely related architecture or design field of study and 4 years of experience in any related occupation working on architectural design.
