The Corporateoffice of SmithGroupis looking for aDirector of ITto join our team.

The Director is responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of IT functions for all firm-wide systems. This includes directing IT operations and staff to meet organizational requirements. The Director will be responsible for managing the development of new technical solutions as well as the support and maintenance of existing systems. This position requires leadership, teamwork, strong project management skills and an in-depth knowledge of modern technologies.

Working with us, you will:

  • Lead the IT team, including the IT desktop support services and IT Infrastructure groups.

  • Work in partnership with the CIO to ensure efficient operations and services to staff and offices.

  • Analyze complex business needs presented by the CIO or other internal organizations and recommend technical solutions.

  • Develop and oversee our corporate IT technology roadmap and strategy.

  • Ensure the consistency and maintainability of existing applications by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards and procedures for implementing technical solutions.

  • Develop requirements, outlines, budgets, and schedules for projects.

  • Oversee all phases of project from conception to completion, ensuring projects are completed within budget and on time.

  • Follow PMI standards to manage projects through the project lifecycles of initiation, planning, execution and closure.

  • Assemble risk management plans and work effort documents.

  • Utilize in-depth technical knowledge and business requirements to design and implement secure solutions to meet customer / client needs while protecting the corporation's assets.

  • Develop security standards, procedures, and guidelines for multiple platforms and IT operations.

  • Provide daily oversight and management of the IT budget.

  • Coordinate adequate system documentation, as well as disaster recovery and business continuity plans for primary services.

  • Review all designs, solutions and project test plans where applicable.

  • Approve all business requirements prior to the technical solution. Lead and/or participate on all hardware and software evaluations and maintain vendor contracts and negotiations.

  • Provide coaching and mentoring for IT staff. Direct IT education programs for his/her staff.

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of IT KPI reporting.

  • Perform salary administration, conduct staff reviews and make recommendations for new hires, consultants and/or replacement personnel.

An ideal candidate has:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or related experience.

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience within information technology.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing staff.

  • Experience in the most current technologies and products used.

SmithGroup's competitive compensation and benefit package is designed meet the needs of a diverse staff. The anticipated salary range for this position is $XX,XXXto $XX,XXX annually, at the time of posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the anticipated salary range for this position. Additionally, an employee in this position is eligible for a performance-based bonus on an annual basis. Our comprehensive benefits include medical, dental and vision coverage, flexible spending account options and voluntary insurances. We offer 3 weeks of paid time off within the first year of employment, with the option of purchasing additional time off, 8 paid federal holidays, and parental leave benefits.
