Job Description
Under general supervision, performs operations such as assembling, weighing and testing special seals. Visually inspects and dimension checks special seals and related parts.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Pick components, assemble, weigh, test, visually inspect and dimension check special seal and related parts (sleeves, end plates, seats, etc.) using small hand tools.
- Measure parts with vernier calipers, micrometers, etc.
- Work from factory work orders, shipping orders, assembly drawings or special instruction.
- Consult with Engineering Department when required.
- Instruct or assist less experienced assemblers.
- Make proper job and time reports for timekeeping.
- Assist in training new personnel.
- Fill customer orders utilizing reference books, drawings and make needed substitutions and inspections.
- Responsible for maintaining and orderly work area.
- Raise, lower and move parts weighing up to 60 lbs.

The Individual
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret average assembly and machine drawings.
- Ability to make average to complicated arithmetic calculations and resolve elementary technical problems. Over 2-4 years previous shop experience on related work and six months on-the-job training.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to sit for extend periods of time; a minimum of 2 hours.
- Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the office, shop, warehouse, or manufacturing plant
- Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working at assigned desk area.
- Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment.
- Must be able to simultaneously manage several objectives, changing priorities and reassign priorities to complete assignments.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
