What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Manager position at SMO Energy?
The General Manager will implement a strategy that builds a culture of teamwork, quality, customer service excellence, ownership, accountability, continuous improvement and safety. The GM will manage Delivery, Service, Installation, Fleet, and Admin staff workflow processes and ensure customer deliverables, pricing/margin and retention activities are in accordance with District objectives. Must understand and effectively communicate the vision of the organization to direct reports. Capably perform other duties as assigned.
Duties:
Direct and supervise day-to-day operations and planning to meet and exceed customer expectations
Coordinate operational activities through leading Managers/Supervisors to ensure operational objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner
Interface effectively with team members from all functional disciplines as well as senior management
Develop and hire top talent; upgrade talent as needed to meet growing business needs; develop, coach and train employees to build a high performance culture
Assess performance indicators and take appropriate actions, to ensure cost and quality goals are met
Provide leadership and commitment in support of continuing improvements in quality, productivity, safety and delivery performance through development of Managers/Supervisors
Work to continuously improve customer satisfaction through programs to minimize delinquencies, provide for on-time delivery, and meet customer quality expectations
Actively seek customer interface to communicate and facilitate customer needs within the organization
Participate in the implementation of new processes, product, and technology to meet operational objectives
Interact with customers on all levels to align capabilities and requirements. Help grow the business by engaging in the community and looking at acquisitions that align well with our business model
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, Business/Operations, Management or a related field preferred
Minimum of 5 years' experience in site operation management
Must be able to effectively manage and engage with employees from various departments/areas of the operation
Ability & willingness to work a flexible schedule as necessary to meet customer requirements
Ability to resolve complex/escalated issues and must be self-motivated and quick thinking
Ability to take ownership of customer issues and bring them to resolution creating customer advocates
Understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, scheduling, inventory control, logistics, and delivery
Knowledge of financial concepts and techniques utilized to establish value propositions of operational change
Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communications skills
Ability to develop community engagement relationships
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Valid Driver's License with the ability to meet the Company's motor vehicle policy
