SMX is looking for a Communications Program Manager with marketing experience to drive internal and external communications for the company and customer, ensuring a consistent and engaging message. This is a hybrid position that requires to be onsite 1 to 3 times a month with some travel to participate in meetings or events across the US, when appropriate and in adherence with COVID-19 guidelines. This role will be responsible for developing and executing communications and marketing for executive-level and senior government leadership. As part of the communications and marketing strategy, the manager will lead the creation of cloud-specific messaging, marketing collateral, programs, documentation, and campaigns to drive community awareness and success. You will serve in a consulting role conducting various levels of strategic-level research, marketing product creation and delivery, as well as assisting in written communications and policy recommendations for the client. The right candidate will be a creative, strategic, trusted partner to the organization, and will have the opportunity to create high impact communications.

Key job responsibilities

  • Regularly interact with senior leadership to develop and communicate AWS's (as well as Azure, Google and Oracle in the future) top stories, as well as the customers strategic messaging to their Enterprise
  • Manage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges with high-judgment and professionalism
  • Define, develop, and oversee end-to-end execution of PR strategy and programs to show the positive impact of AWS (and other cloud services in the future) to our intelligence customers, partners, and communities around the world- Work cross-functionally to plan and execute PR and marketing campaigns
  • Support the development and execution of events and media engagements

Required Qualifications

  • Required clearance: TS/SCI
  • 5 years of communications, government relations, public relations, and/or marketing experience
  • 3 years experience in program or project management
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
  • Experience in building marketing and communications campaigns (government or military strategic messaging a plus)
  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Enterprise technology PR (B2B and B2C) experience
  • Established relationships with top tier media
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to articulate a clear point of view on complicated issues (i.e policies, memorandums of understanding, senior leadership memo's, and website messaging)
  • Advanced skills on Microsoft Office 365 products/software (intermediate skill with Word, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint a plus)
  • Basic to intermediate skills using media creation programs (ex. Canva, Lucid charts, etc)
  • Experience driving cultural change and influencing organizations through communications, from audience and stakeholder analysis along with implementation and success metrics tracking
  • Knowledgeable on Intelligence Community missions and systems
  • Ability to build and maintain a marketing strategy (federal government or military experience a plus) Ability to produce and present documents and briefings to audiences (customer engagements and training sessions)
  • Obtain a deep understanding of our cloud solutions and target user personas to craft compelling persona-based messaging and content that conveys the value of our solutions and communicates our differentiators
  • Able to work in a team environment with frequent customer contact and engagements with senior company and government leadership
