SMX is looking for a highly motived Mid-Level Project Manager to join our team to oversee cost, schedule, and technical performance of multiple tasks, projects, and personnel. Projects are telecommunications related to include network, cyber, and RF engineering through sustainment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Mentors and evaluates performance of less-senior personnel
- May identify PM and technical related training needs of staff
- Executes and monitors project activities
- Manages changes to scope, cost and schedule of project work
- Prepares and updates project plans and status reports
- Coordinates cross-functional meetings of project personnel as well as government clients
- Allocates appropriate resources to ensure projects are completed within given time and budget
- Establishes and maintains communications and relationships with customers
- Creates, submits, and tracks equipment procurement documentation
- Prepares, reviews, and submits contract deliverables to include trip reports, monthly status reports, overtime request forms, and more as assigned
- Identifies, coordinates, and monitors subcontractor(s) execution
- Models integrity and initiative
Required Skills and Experience:
- Clearance Required: Secret
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, technical, business, or computer science/IT discipline
- 5-7 years of experience managing projects
- Prior experience managing personnel in a supervisory role
- PMP certification or the ability to obtain certification with 1 year
- Must be able to effectively handle multiple and shifting priorities and possess excellent time management skills
- Good at motivating and delegating to junior and peer personnel as appropriate
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to complete tasks within required timeframes with no supervision
- Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Proficiency desired in Microsoft Visio and Project
- The ideal candidate will be goal-oriented and action-focused, pragmatic and self-disciplined
