Next Generation Spectacles are our first pair of glasses that bring augmented reality to life. We’re looking for a Design Engineer to join our team! What you'll do: Conceptualize and design new mobile interactive experiences centered around the camera Own the development of new interactive experiences from prototype to product release Collaborate with Creative and Engineering teams to make the most fun, surprising, and stable products possible Define the hardware and software UX requirements for features on the Spectacles Platform Prototype end-to-end user flows for the Spectacles operating system UI Prototype end-to-end user flows for the experiences enabled by the Spectacles platform Prototype the end-to-end UX for tools that enable developers to make experiences on Spectacles using Lens Studio Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Ability to program and code interactive experiences Ability to work with digital content creation tools (2D, 3D, etc.) Strong communication and collaboration skills Expertise in designing, prototyping, and programming with real-time 3D engines (Unity, Unreal, OpenFrameworks, Processing, and WebGL/OpenGL, etc.) Experience with 3D packages like Maya, 3ds Max, or Cinema4D Standout creative portfolio Proven track record of shipping premium consumer product experiences in games, advertising, or other related channels A passion for creating interactive experiences that are fun, delightful, and allow Snapchatters to communicate and express themselves in new ways Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience 3 years of experience designing and developing real-time interactive experiences 3 years of experience designing, prototyping, and programming with real-time 3D engines (e.g. Unity, Unreal, Lens Studio, Spark AR) Preferred Qualifications: Expertise in designing and building delightful interactive experiences Experience with scripting (JavaScript, C#, etc.) Experience with existing and established Human-Computer Interaction paradigms Experience working with cross-functional teams Experience working on AI and LLM prototypes Passion for interaction design and prototyping Compensation: In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These pay zones may be modified in the future. Zone A (CA, WA, NYC): The base salary for this position is $165,000 to $230,000 Zone B: The base salary for this position is $157,000 to $219,000 Zone C: The The base salary for this position is $140,000 to $196,000 This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs "Default Together" Policy at Snap: At Snap Inc. we believe that being together in person helps us build our culture faster, reinforce our values, and serve our community, customers and partners better through dynamic collaboration.
