What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outreach Director position at SNAPP?
SNAPP’s Mission
SNAPP is a tier-1 prevention program that leverages the power of community, mentorship, and peer-to-peer empowerment to help teens build resilience, overcome challenges, and become the person they want to be.
What We Do
As the expectations and pressures placed on today’s youth continue to rise, the detrimental effects on their mental health represent nothing short of a crisis. SNAPP is a northern Colorado-based non-profit that works to prevent these social and emotional challenges in teens through peer-to-peer, strengths-based programming. SNAPP has a proven track record in Northern Colorado as a source of community and support for teens dealing with various social or emotional needs. Qualitatively speaking, SNAPP has helped many teens deal with self-harm, poor body image, familial adversity, social challenges, and trauma. SNAPP works by supporting the development of effective coping skills, connecting these members to additional resources, or simply surrounding them in a community of empathy and support. SNAPP is about making connections and building a village around our youth so that they can better respond to social challenges and life’s adversities. We teach our youth not to turn away from adversity but to face it head-on, stand tall, and leverage their resilience.
SNAPP meets during the fall and spring for 12 meetups of 90 minutes a week. In addition, the group may meet once or twice during that time to rock climb, do a ropes course, or participate in Yoga with goats and other activities. Our goal is to connect our members with one another, gain real knowledge about the world around them, and to facilitate a community of support.
