What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAD Designer I position at SNF Holding Company?
SNF Floquip, a subsidiary of SNF Holding Company, is currently seeking a Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Technician. The CAD Technician will be responsible for using CAD equipment to provide support to the Engineer by preparing Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, system arrangements including pipe routing, and detail drawings.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understands the equations, calculations, and written instructions before developing designs.
- Designs framework for a project.
- Works with engineers to develop, manufacture, and market a product.
- Analyzes, design, and build business/technical solutions that deliver the client’s goal.
- Create and revise manufacturing drawings.
- Takes field measurements or uses manufactures cut sheets to produce necessary component drawings.
- Communicates with engineering and manufacturing regarding new and revised prints.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree or Certificate in drafting from two years of college or technical school, or equivalent experience.
- 3 – 5 years of experience in mechanical design or mechanical shop settings.
- Understanding of common shop fabrication practices.
- Knows materials, including pipe, fittings, and valves.
- Knows how to read and interpret P&ID and General Arrangement drawings
- Yokogawa DCS 3000 control system experience preferred.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstration of strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
