Integrity Performance Environment Fun Collaboration POSITION SUMMARY Maintain and ensure all buildings and grounds electrical equipment is operating properly, efficiently and safely ESSENTIAL DUTIES This position is responsible for the following job results. Following all state and federal codes (national electrical code), regulations, insurance carrier, and manufacturer requirements. Performing daily inspections to ensure safe operations. Assisting plumbers, carpenters, and HVAC personnel in keeping all components operational Performing all prescribed maintenance on all equipment Following National Electrical codes, manufacturers requirements, federal and state requirements, Insurance requirements Completing all required maintenance logs and records Trouble shooting electrical malfunctions quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime Assembling and testing machines to verify correction of malfunction Observing, monitoring, adjusting equipment during operations Performing inspections and servicing as prescribed by manufactures or governing bodies Ensuring that all maintenance information on all equipment and systems is recorded in compliance with company requirements Recording and documenting all work performed Completing in detail and turning in all work orders so that proper billing can be achieved Performing periodic tests and inspections on all equipment Monitoring and testing equipment regularly Offering continual assistance of the standard operational and safety practices to the Plumbers, carpenters, HVAC and other assisting departmental personnel Referring to equipment technical manuals to ensure proper procedures are followed and proper settings are maintained Notifying Manager of any condition or occurrence that may adversely affect the safety of operation or the quality of the experience of our guests Observing housekeeping, bar or restaurant operations to ensure they are safely and efficiently operating equipment. Making suggestions to the supervisors or managers when abnormalities are noted. Maintaining high voltage switches and transformers Repairing all high voltage lines as needed Checking inventory levels and ordering supplies as needed Anticipating needed supplies Verifying orders upon arrival Performing electrical tasks for other departments (snowmaking, maintenance, lifts etc.) Reading trade publications, attending training, workshops, maintaining electrical license and communicating with Peers at other resorts and our sister Alterra Resorts. Reading mountain operations manuals, employee handbooks, and manufactures manuals Maintaining work areas and shop areas clean and neat for co-workers, guests, and inspectors. Following all company safety policies and procedures Following all manufactures safety policies and procedures Attending company and departmental safety training meetings Using proper PPE (personal protective equipment) Conducting yourself in a friendly and courteous manner at all times and provide efficient, timely service to guests and other staff Assisting and instructing guests when ever asked. This policy also applies to employees or volunteers driving their personal vehicles for company business more than four times per month, averaging 30 miles per trip. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays. Office Environment: Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 20 pounds on an occasional basis. Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis. Auditory and visual acuity to operate computers, phones, mobile devices and basic office equipment on a constant basis. Ability to work for extended periods of time sitting, bending, reaching, and speaking on a constant basis. Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, pushing and pulling on an occasional basis. Mountain Environment: The primary physical environment in which this position works is out of doors with a high exposure level to cold, snow, wind, rain, bugs, sun, high altitude, extreme heights, lightning, etc... The degree of strenuous activity within the job is considered to be high. Often lifting a weight of 50 pounds throughout the day is common. Additional strenuous physical activity may include walking or hiking upon uneven, challenging terrain with heavy tools or equipment. Exposure to: Chemicals required for cleaning, de-greasing, and painting Ultra Violet radiation from the sun enhanced through lack of atmospheric filtration at work altitude. Fumes produced in activities ranging from cleaning to painting to fabrication of metal products. Noise generated by snowmobiles, lift equipment, and tools may require hearing protection to be worn. Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees. Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
