Summary
Responsible for development and delivery of a comprehensive training program to educate, enable, and empower Team Members and Leaders to fulfill regulatory requirements while delivering superior Guest Service as established in Soboba Casino Resort’s Service Standards.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments to determine service gaps and training needs.
- Develop and/or identify curriculum and determine effective and appropriate instructional methods.
- Facilitate training for Managers, Supervisors, and Team Members to enable career skills enrichment.
- Connect with Departments to measure and monitor guest service progress against established Soboba Service Standards.
- Develop creative and innovative methods to promote ongoing compliance with Service Standards through reward and recognition, awards, prizes, etc.
- Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with Department Leaders to successfully provide consultative training and development services.
- Contribute to the successful on-boarding of new Team Members by facilitating interactive and engaging New Hire Orientation sessions.
- Conduct train-the-trainer workshops to support departments’ internal training programs.
- Facilitate or coordinate delivery of recurring regulatory and compliance training.
- Assist with preparation of the annual budget process to establish adequate resources for training programs.
- Evaluate external training requests for approval to meet training needs within budgetary guidelines
- Assist with Team Member Enhancement Training program as needed.
- Create and contribute to the publication of the SCR Newsletter for team members.
- Support all areas of Human Resources (Onboarding, R&R, Engagement, Compliance, Training, etc.).
- Other duties as may be assigned from time-to-time.
- Organizes and develops training manuals, reference library, testing and evaluation procedures, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials.
- Researches and selects outside consultants and trainers to conduct training in specific topics.
- Maintains records and prepares statistical reports to evaluate performance of instructors and monitor progress of trainees. Maintains and administers the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Must be physically present to work a regular, reliable, and predictable work schedule in accordance with business demands, and maintain a consistent and regular attendance record.
- Perform special projects and other responsibilities, tasks, or duties as requested.

- Serve as a contributing Team Member of the Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians enhancing the Casino’s operations in all its business endeavors.
Education / Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age, or older.
- High School diploma or equivalent, required.
- Two (2) year or four (4) year Degree in related field (training, education, marketing, business), highly desirable.
- Three (3) years training experience, plus five (5) years of experience in guest service, entertainment, and/or hospitality, required.
- Proven work experience as a Training Coordinator, Trainer, Facilitator or similar role.
- Knowledge of instructional design theory and implementation.
- Adequate knowledge of learning management systems and web delivery tools.
- Proven ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to promote a positive and professional image.
- Must be able to assess learning capabilities, develop training strategies, track desired training objectives and results.
- Intermediate computer literacy skills, required.
- Working knowledge of and expertise in the operation of general office equipment including personal computer and computer software programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook, required
- Certification in training instruction from nationally recognized professional training association, desired.
- Prior supervisory/management experience, preferred.
- Prior human resources knowledge and experience a plus.
- Must be able to provide evidence of eligibility to work in the United States of America.
Certificates, licenses and registration
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Soboba Tribal Gaming Commission license.
- Required to submit to and obtain negative results on all drug and/or alcohol testing.
