What are the responsibilities and job description for the Van Driver position at Soboba?
SUMMARY:
Van driver will operate a school Van to transport school children over designated routes; and do other work as required.
***Please note that this position is a training position. All Van drivers must complete School Bus Training and obtain a Class B license along with a School Bus Certificate.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Although other duties may be assigned, the essential duties include:
- Drive a van daily/weekends over designated routes in accordance with time schedules
- Picking up and discharging school children.
- Escorts children across streets when necessary.
- Transport children and teachers on field trips to various locations.
- Make departures and arrivals according to schedule.
- Maintain the van in a clean and safe operating condition.
- Maintain good order among the students in the vans and waiting at the bus stops.
- Following school policies regarding the disciplining of children and contact with the parents and other citizens
- Prepare operational reports and reports of needed van repairs.
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Licenses & Certificates: Valid California Driver’s License, First Aid Card/ and must continue to maintain all licenses in good standing.
EXPERIENCE
- Two years of successful driving experience with a demonstrated record of safe driving.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A valid and appropriate California Driver's License
- Safe driving record
- Basic first aid
- Knowledge of California DMV Laws and regulations
REQUIRED
- A current California Drivers License
- All applicants are required to complete the pre-screen Background Clearance and Drug Testing.
