Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies to ensure efficient and cost-effective procurement of cannabis products and supplies
- Collaborate with vendors to negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of stock
- Monitor market trends and stay updated on industry regulations to make informed purchasing decisions
- Work closely with the operations team to forecast demand and plan inventory accordingly
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with purchasing policies and procedures
- Manage vendor relationships and evaluate performance to ensure quality and reliability
- Oversee the purchasing team and provide guidance and support as needed
Required Skills
- Minimum 21 years of age- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field
- Proven experience as a purchasing manager or in a similar role within the cannabis industry
- In-depth knowledge of cannabis products, strains, and industry regulations
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Desired Skills
- Experience with seed-to-sale tracking systems- Familiarity with social equity programs and initiatives in the cannabis industry
- Knowledge of sustainable and eco-friendly procurement practices
- Understanding of cannabis cultivation and extraction processes
- Ability to speak multiple languages to facilitate communication with diverse vendors and suppliers
