Title: Manager, Digital Marketing and Communications
Reports to: Director of Communications and Publications
FLSA Status: Exempt
Salary Range: $73,000 – $78,750
Classification: Full-time
Position Purpose: As a key member of a three-person communications team, the digital marketing and communications manager shall organize and manage the Society’s marketing process from submission through execution for a wide range of promotional campaigns.
About SAEM: The Society for Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM) creates and promotes scientific discovery, advancement of education, and the highest professional and ethical standards for clinicians, educators, and researchers. Our membership of over 8,200 academic emergency care professionals are leaders in the industry. Primary Responsibilities of the Manager, Digital Marketing & Communications:
● Serves as the lead point of contact for new marketing project intake
● Oversees the scheduling and implementation of marketing projects, including creation of email and social media communications, and coordinates with graphic designers to develop visual assets
● Serves as team lead for maintaining the Society’s social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn), and schedules posts/tweets to ensure messaging is deployed on schedule
● Updates Society website, ensuring information is current and correct
● Organizes and maintains graphics and content files
Additional responsibilities may include:
● Complete other projects and responsibilities at the organization’s discretion
● Assist with administrative tasks in day-to-day association operations
● Act as a staff liaison to various committees, interest groups and task forces within SAEM
Primary Relationships of the Manager, Digital Marketing & Communications:
Reports to the director of communications and publications and serves as a pivotal member of the organization’s communications team, which also includes a senior manager, journals and communications. Within the organization, the position has primary working relationships with the CEO, the senior management team, communications staff, and related stakeholders.
Skills & Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
● A minimum of three years of relevant, professional work experience
● A degree in communications, marketing, social media, or related concentration
● Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills
● Experience using any of the following: email marketing software, website content management systems, social media management tools
● Understanding of social media platforms and current industry trends, with an eye always toward growing and improving
● The ability to work under pressure, meet critical deadlines, and deal with emergent issues and multiple projects simultaneously and under tight time constraints
● A desire to make an overall positive contribution to the organization and the academic emergency medicine specialty
● A collaborative, ready-to-roll-up-their-sleeves, team-focused attitude combined with a high level of integrity
The following experience/skills are not required, but are a plus:
● Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign, Premier Pro, and Photoshop)
● Understanding of HTML and search engine optimization (SEO)
● Experience in the association and/or nonprofit field
● Experience in web administration and maintaining an association website
