What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop Technician position at SoCo Wood & Windows?
Summary:
The Shop Technician assists with building doors, receiving, loading, may drive or assist driver with deliveries to customer build sites. Assists with clean up and organization. May operate machinery and will use shop tools as needed.
This position reports to the Director of Operations.
Duties & Responsibilities – Shop work:
- Build doors, load/unload windows and other product and materials
-Rip Saw, Planer, General hand tools
- Report any maintenance that is noticed being required during operation
- Assist in daily and other periodic cleaning of the shop. Ensure a safe and clean work environment.
-Assist in the storage of materials and product and general organization of on hand materials at the shop.
-Use forklift to move materials and product as needed at the shop.
-MUST be able and excited to safely load/unload and deliver heavy doors and windows to client job sites.
Minimum Job Requirements
· Must be punctual and possess a strong work ethic
· Ability to work in various weather and temperature conditions
· Attention to Detail and Care for Quality
· Ability to listen and execute requests in a timely manner
· Ability to stand long periods of time, 6 hours a day
· Ability to consistently lift to 50 lbs.
· Ability to succeed individually while working as a team to complete orders
· Basic math understanding and calculation
-Valid Driver’s License, Clean driving record must be maintained
Work Conditions:
SoCo Wood & Windows is a manufacturing company, as such it is a dusty environment. Work is primarily performed in the shop, as well as outside, gathering of product and material and general yard maintenance; employees need to be prepared for various temperatures depending on the season and come to work dressed accordingly. There are various large pieces of equipment running simultaneously any and all employees must be aware of their surroundings and ensure a safe work environment is being continuously maintained.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
