This position is a Hybrid/ Remote Position with occasional travel to office in Brentwood, TN as needed so candidate must be local to the area.
Sodexo’s HTM (Healthcare Technology Management) division is seeking a well-qualified candidate for its accounting department. The ideal candidate will have general accounting knowledge and an associate or above degree; working experiences in corporate accounting and/or accounts payable are preferable.
The primary responsibility of this Accountant/AP Specialist position is to support the daily accounting and accounts payable functions. This role will prepare templates, accounting worksheets, letters, memos, and other documents using Word, Excel spreadsheet and other office tools; maintain computer-based filing and archiving systems; create and analyze worksheets, files, records, and other documents; provide support to field operations by resolving issues as they arise, and when necessary, routing the service issue to the appropriate individuals for resolution.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain accounting and financial records and reports
- Help with balance sheet accounts reconciliations- Prepare manual entries for required reclass and allocation & Reconcile cash and credit card activities
- File state and local sales and use tax return
- Add fixed assets to the system and reconcile to the ledger balance
- Match vendor invoices to purchase orders and resolve discrepancies if any- Code, review, and process vendor invoices for payments & Reconcile vendor statements and resolve outstanding balances & Maintain vendor database and help with annual 1099 filings
- Perform check run and create register/log for checks issued
- Develop good relationship with vendor and handle vendor inquiry effectively
- Assist with accounts payable policies and procedures- Participate in month end financial close and reporting
Education/Experience Preferred:
- Associate or higher degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel; strong data entry skills
- At least 1-2 years accounting experience
- Knowledge and utilization of Microsoft Great Plains is preferred
- Demonstrated analytical ability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
