Responsibilities :
- Responsible for pick-up and delivery of interoffice mail by department throughout the day. Delivery and pick-up of securities, checks, mail and other documents to and from Agencies, Banks, and Brokerage Firms and clients throughout New York City
- Pick-up, sort and deliver interoffice mail by departments throughout the day in accordance with guidelines.
- Assist in the daily opening and sorting of incoming mail received from the U.S. Post Office, Fed Ex, DHL, and various couriers, and deliver to recipients.
- Deliver and pick-up securities, checks, deposits and other documents from various agencies, banks, clients and brokerage firms, in a timely and efficiently.
- Ensure that all supplies required for efficient mail room operations are available as needed.
- Be familiar with pricing, and location reliability of all courier services to ensure the most cost efficient and reliable service.
- Communicate with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information, and address complaints.
- Answer telephones, direct calls and take messages. Compile, copy, sort, and file records of office activities, business transactions and other activities.
- Compute, record and proofread data and other information, such as records or reports. Maintain and update filing, inventory, mailing, and database systems.
- High school diploma or GED typically required.
- 0-2 years administrative/customer service-related experience required.
- Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Multi-tasking, customer service skills and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
- Ability to keep information organized and confidential.
- Second language an asset (French, Spanish, etc)
- Advanced computer skills
