Software Resources has an immediate job opportunity for a GSCC Mapping Contractor with a major corporation in Burbank, CA.

This role is located in Burbank, CA . In the office 4 days week and 1 day remote, typically in Mon-Thurs and Fri remote. Candidate needs to be flexible based on the schedule of work in the dept.

Pay Rate: $21 – $25/hr DOE

Required Education – An undergraduate degree in International Relations, Geospatial Studies, Geo-Design, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Technologies, Geo-Spatial Data Science, Criminal Justice, or a closely related field. An advanced degree in a closely related field is a plus.

• This position is important because key enterprise-wide stakeholders rely on the capabilities of the GSCC Mapping Team to properly and expeditiously compile mapping information to ensure precise location data for the Travel Safety Team; convert information received from partners or online research to standardized data format; ensure visuals accurately represent geospatial locations; and ensure quality and accuracy of data entered and managed on all systems.
  
  

Description

The Global Security Communications Center is responsible for supporting emergency and non-emergency security system monitoring, incoming call mitigation, event dispatching, and event-driven global notification services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In an emergency, the GSCC directs and coordinates all enterprise-wide assistance and support by providing technical and advisory assistance for the performance of essential operational services; the issuance of warnings of risks and hazards, dissemination of employee information, as well as being the center point for management, control, and reduction of immediate threats to health and safety.

The GSCC Mapping Contractor must be able to exercise critical thinking and strong attention to detail in order to plot all Disney assets through the department's mapping platform. This will enable the GSCC to immediately identify assets impacted by man-made and natural incidents, and subsequently facilitate communications and solutions to impacted Disney personnel and their impacted business leadership, including the executive leadership of the company.

The GSCC Mapping Contractor is an important member of the Travel Safety Program as they are responsible for mapping geographical locations, trips, expeditions, productions, and tours worldwide to enable the user to obtain real-time information to navigate clear from potential dangers, concerns and vulnerabilities: violent protests, inclement weather patterns, natural disasters, COVID-19 travel restrictions and ordinances, social media threats, medical emergencies, and other travel hazards.

• Plot all assets (worldwide) into department mapping tool
• Ensure all assets are current by cross-checking against weekly lists provided by business partners from across the enterprise
• Assist in briefing internal and external partners on the mapping capabilities of the GSCC
• Apply and utilize smart mapping tools/styles for visually stunning presentations
• Use intuitive analysis data tools to add valuable context by combining it with existing demographic and lifestyle data
• Assist with data management and entry
• Assist GSCC Supervisors and Managers with administrative tasks
  
  

Basic Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites
• Must be a self-starter and able to take initiative
• Ability to work collaboratively and take directions
• Ability to transition between calm and extremely active work conditions
• Must be willing to learn unfamiliar technical systems
• Sense of urgency in a 24/7 work environment for quick response to critical developing issues
