What are the responsibilities and job description for the People Operations Generalist position at Sojern?
Sojern is looking for a dynamic People Operations Generalist to add to our incredible People Team. Our team is focused on delivering the best possible HR experience to our employees. We are looking for a People Ops Generalist to support the day-to-day operations of our America’s employees (US, Mexico and Canada). The work that you do will help take our People Operations to the next level. Whether it’s working to onboard new employees, maintaining accurate records and systems, writing process docs and policies, or ensuring everyone has benefits, you’re on it! This role will report to the Director, People Operations.
What you will do:
- Support core People Ops processes: updating systems, processing internal employee moves, relocations, terminations, maintain compliant employee records, etc in partnership with the larger People Team
- Support Onboarding and/or Offboarding efforts for the America’s employees: draft and send offer letters, initiate background checks, system set-up, I9 processing, onboarding presentations, termination processing, system updates
- Participate in various process implementation and improvements: establish and maintain SOP (standard operating procedures) and documentation for programs and processes within the People Ops team
- Verification of employment information: first point of contact for verification of employment requests, reference checks and/or unemployment requests
- Support Benefits Administration: serve as a go-to resource for US and Mexico employees who may have questions on benefits (how to enroll or make changes in the system, processing life events), monitor and support data feeds between HRIS and benefit systems, assist with Open Enrollment activities and benefit communications
- Administer Leave of Absence: administer and manage employee leave of absence, parental leave or workplace accommodation requests in accordance with federal and state laws
- Reporting and Audits: leverage your technical acumen with reporting and system agility to maintain and audit records, ad hoc reporting as requested, run regular audit reports to maintain accurate system data
- Compliance: partner with Legal and IT to further SOC2 compliance efforts, assist in Immigration compliance, administer background check program, stay up to date with various HR compliance priorities
- Go-to Resource for Employees: be the go-to resource for all employee questions in the America’s region (Benefits, HR policies and processes, HR systems, Onboarding)
- People Ops Project Support: opportunities to grow through involvement in global project teams as we continue to evolve workflows and processes
