Medication Administration qualification.

Must have the ability and the integrity to document consistency
Preferred Qualifications:
- Med cart training.
- Experience working with seniors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Arrive on time for all shifts scheduled to ensure the staffing ratio required by state regulations.
Read ALERTS & COMMUNICATIONS before beginning your shift.
Administer medication to identified residents according to State Medical Administration regulations.
Complete medication administration documentation as outlined in policies and procedures.
Call to obtain faxed Doctors’ orders on medication changes if directed by the Resident Care Coordinator
Order medications and supplies as needed.
Report problems or errors to Resident Care Coordinator
Accurately record and report incidents, errors, or accidents in appropriate documents on the eMAR system.
Observe and report changes in the residents’ physical condition and cognitive/emotional status Resident Care Coordinator as needed. Document changes in progress notes as outlined in procedures.
Assist residents, as necessary, with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) as outlined in their Board and Care Plan (bathing, dressing, etc.)
General housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning bathrooms and kitchen, laundry, bed making, changes, etc.
Assist with the care of resident devices such as eyeglasses, hearing aids, etc.
Encourage residents’ wellness so far as their condition, abilities, needs, and desires allow.
Encourage resident independence and well-being (regarding mobility and personal care, arts and crafts, reading and writing, hobbies and interests); assist in bringing residents to all activities.
Initiate one-on-one visits with appropriate residents.
Assist in a variety of tasks related to dining, including serving, clearing, resetting tables, etc.
Prepare and serve snacks as needed.
Lead activities for residents as assigned.
Respond to and act appropriately in emergency or disaster situations.
Plan and complete duties with minimal direction from the supervisor.
Use tactful communication techniques in all situations with residents, families, and co-workers.
Act as an ambassador and public relations representative to guests and other visitors.
Give verbal and/or written report to oncoming QMAP at the end of your shift. Must stay at the facility until relieved by oncoming QMAP in order to comply with State regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
