What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program specialist position at Solar United Neighbors?
The Go Solar Program Specialist will join a team of Program Coordinators and Specialists in supporting state program field staff in their day-to-day implementation of solar co-ops.
This includes tracking co-op members in Salesforce, answering co-op member inquiries, maintaining content on program websites, and drafting materials for use by field and communications staff.
The Program Specialist will also work on Solar Help Desk cases to assist individual homeowners in going solar outside of our solar co-ops.
This position will report to the Director of Go Solar Programs.

Responsibilities
Job responsibilities include :
- Conducting solar roof reviews of potential co-op members.
- Creating and updating webpages through WordPress.
- Drafting documents and educational materials including requests for proposals (RFPs), update emails, informational documents, presentations, and blog posts.
- Providing solar technical assistance by responding to inquiries, questions, and concerns of co-op participants and solar Help Desk users.
- Managing and maintaining co-op member records in Salesforce.
- Providing special solar savings economic analysis in support of state and national programming.
- Working with the broader organization (Communications team, Development team, Executive team) to optimize the promotion and growth of solar co-ops.
- Identifying and implementing strategic improvements to solar co-op processes and materials.
- Working with broader organizational staff to roll out these improvements across all teams.
- Brainstorming special initiatives, content development, training, and educational work to improve our work at SUN.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to balance multiple projects at a time and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong desire to learn the solar industry from the inside out (solar technology, installer practices, solar financing, solar policy, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Spanish-fluency.
- Support / help desk experience.
- Familiarity with WordPress, and working in Salesforce or other CRMs.
- Experience in the solar industry.
