Overview
As a Foreman, you’ll be counted on to provide leadership and technical expertise for a solar installation crew of three to six members. You’ll be responsible for safety, quality, customer service, and productivity as you ensure the successful completion of residential and small commercial projects.
Responsibilities
- Organize, lead, and train crew members
- Effectively manage all aspects of the construction workflow
- Maintain project documentation
- Develop a positive working dynamic within your team and with branch coworkers
- Analyze and resolve worker problems and recommend solutions
- Maintain consistent customer relations throughout installation
- Provide feedback to management
- Perform service calls when necessary
- 3 years of solar experience and leading crews on residential/commercial projects
- Knowledgeable of Solar electrical calculations
- Enphase/Tesla Battery Experience preferred
- High knowledge of bill of materials needed for solar installations
Qualifications
This high visibility role requires an outstanding customer-focused, detail-oriented leader with:
- A minimum of two years of construction experience, including one year in solar installation
- Knowledge of the NEC and applicable codes and standards
- Ability to perform all duties of the Installer and Lead Installer
- Understanding of relevant OSHA standards
- CPR and first aid certifications
- Computer skills with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong mechanical/construction abilities
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and people management skills
- Experience with electrical work involving wiring up to 600 VDC and 480 VAC
- State electrical certification/license preferred
- Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of Electrician Supervisor level or higher experience in industrial or commercial settings
- Knowledge in using hand tools, electrical meter, and testing equipment
- Efficient in sizing conductors, conduits and using NEC Code Book.
- Experienced in handling low to high voltage up to 480 VAC.
- Experience in medium voltage a plus
- Strong knowledge in installing and troubleshooting of PLCs, motor controls, drives, and electronic components a plus
- Ability to interpret electrical prints and schematics
- Ability to install electrical equipment and circuit modification
- Ability to produce parts lists and work plans based off drawings or field walks and routing
- Ability to produce as-built drawing for work performed
- Ability to test and commission all work per Texas Solar Group procedures and building department code
- Ability to complete job scopes outside of normal core competencies as required
- Strong working knowledge of job site safety with the ability to thoroughly evaluate job hazards and complete pre-work task planning with an emphasis on identifying electrical hazards and proper safety procedures
- Ability to work in high elevation up to 80 ft. high
- Must have strong interpersonal skills, along with the ability to interact with all levels of management; must have a high degree of initiative, and the ability to work alone and effectively with other people.

Pay: $22.00 - $29.00 per hour
