Job Title: Paraprofessional - Special EducationLocation:Mt. Hood, OR
Positions: 2 Full-time positions
Hours: 32.5 hours per week
Duration: 2024-2025 School Year
Salary: $18-$23 per hour (depending on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist special education students with academic tasks and classroom activities
- Provide 1:1 support to students as needed
- Collaborate with teachers and other educational staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
- Monitor and record student progress and behavior
- Assist with classroom management and organization
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in special education or related field preferred
- Previous experience working with special education students is highly desirable
- Strong munication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting students with diverse needs
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Basic understanding of child development and educational practices
- Must pass a background check
