Senior Web Programmer

We are seeking a strong PHP programmer and systems architect who is experienced with client-side and server-side frameworks (Vue / Angular / React, ProcessWire / Laravel / Symfony / Yii / CodeIgniter) to join our growing team in creating and enhancing systems for our customers. The ideal candidate will have the skills to lead our web team with good communication skills and a passion to discover the big picture of a customer’s request and architect a plan to work down to the smallest details to wisely implement a solution. This full-time position is a hybrid position based from home and from our South Windsor, CT office. The primary responsibility is to work with clients and fellow team members to architect, develop and support custom web applications for our customers.
Web Developer Job Responsibilities
- Maintain exemplary humility, honesty, friendliness and skillfulness in all interactions.
- Design, program and support application logic in new and existing web applications and websites.
- Lead and coach fellow team members in evaluating, designing, and building well-architected systems.
- Learn, follow, and improve company standards and industry best-practices to deliver reliable, efficient, secure, and supportable systems, having clean, attractive, and responsive user interfaces, that Solution Innovators and its customers will benefit from and delight in for many years.
- Help the Solution Innovators team maintain and adhere to its SOC 2 compliance procedures.
- Keep atop of industry trends and new technologies, evaluating and reviewing with management and team members to determine what new technologies would be wise for Solution Innovators to adopt.
- Communicate professionally and meet with team members and customers to establish and ensure system requirements are met throughout the development lifecycle.
- Determine realistic time estimates and assist team members with creation of general estimates and proposals.
- Document work clearly via software comments, company’s time tracking system, and the documentation repository so that others in the team can readily understand and support the systems built.
- Create test plans and work with testers to ensure required functionality is achieved.
- Work promptly to fix bugs when found.
Skills / Qualifications / Education / Experience
- Required Skills: Strong analytical skills. Extensive experience programming in ProcessWire or Laravel, PHP, JavaScript, (Vue.js, jQuery), HTML, CSS, SQL, OOP, MVC, and component-based architectures. Strong interpersonal, leadership and written communication skills.
- Additional Beneficial Skills: Linux server administration, AWS cloud administration, containerized application deployment / IaaS, experience establishing and adhering to compliance procedures, WordPress, engineering data analysis, data processing, network administration, website styling, NoSQL, Java, git, package managers.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent real-world experience.
- Proven track record of quality programming and system support achievements.
Compensation
- Base salary range $75,000-$85,000 depending on skills, with profit sharing and 2-3 weeks paid vacation after vesting period.
