Medium Truck DriverMajor Areas of Responsibility Ability to operate any and all equipment that is processed through the packing and shipping facility to include but not limited to all types of rolling stock, track vehicles and material handling equipment; tactical and non-tactical. This includes knowledge in loading, unloading and tie down operations for transportation requirements. Specific Responsibilities of the Job Receive Material Ensure that materiel destined for shipment is clean prior to acceptance. Verify accuracy of DD Form 1348‐1 or DD Form 1149, and accompanying documentation to the material being shipped Verification of quantity, nomenclature, national stock number (NSN), condition code (CC), unit of issue, and other pertinent data. Immediately contact the DPW Environmental Division and the AO, upon receipt of HAZMAT, for special instructions regarding handling, storage, and shipment of unusual out of the norm HAZMAT items. Segregate and stage materiel by priority Unload shipments as directed by the Chief, Transportation Division Prepare and submit monthly workload report. Prepare Material For Shipment Prepare Tracked Combat Vehicles, Tactical Wheeled Vehicles and Non‐Tactical Wheeled Vehicles for shipment. Prepare vehicles for shipment in accordance with the Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office (DRMO) instruction. Prepare vehicles for shipment no later than five (5) workdays prior to pick‐up. Pack, crate, weigh, palletize and band materiel for shipment IAW current requirements. Stencil containers with cube, dimensions, and shipment weight IAW current requirements. Finalize shipping documents. Annotate any special shipping requirements including HAZMAT requirements, and provide to the Chief, Transportation Division. Complete DD Form 1348‐1, DD Form 1149 and other documents, as needed to complete standards. Date and sign completed documents. Comply with special documentation, packaging and shipping requirements for HAZMAT in accordance with applicable mandatory publications, and specific instructions from the DPW Environmental Division. Shipment Load outbound shipments as directed by the Chief, Transportation Division Perform all other duties as assigned as required for packing and shipping facility operations. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED: Computer and office machines. Use of forklift and power jack. Protective Personal Equipment (PPE) devices are required. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Warehouse environment, but may be outdoors from time-to-time. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: Work requires standing, climbing, bending, stooping, squatting, and sitting, walking and occasionally working in cramped and awkward positions. Occasionally assists lifting and carrying equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Education or Equivalent:High school graduate or GEDThe ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card. License:Able to obtain and maintain warehouse military handling equipment certification. Able to operate a variety of material handling equipment.Maintain a valid Driver’s License. Experience:Minimum of one to two year’s experience. Knowledge/Skills Requirement:Excellent oral and written communication skills. Great organizational skills and detailed oriented. Complete documents and reports. Working knowledge of Microsoft office system to include Word, Excel and Outlook. Computer and office machine skills. Basic math, problem solving skills. Be able to operate warehouse operating software system such as: GCSS Army STAMIS System, SARSS, and/or CMOS.Other Requirements:Follow all local SOPs, policies, and Army Regulations. Ability to speak, write and read the English language.Must obtain and maintain a NACI security clearance and a SECRET Security Clearance.
