Overview:
The Database Administrator is a key role on our infrastructure team. This role ensures stability, security and innovation across our database technologies and assets.
Responsibilities:
  • Provides support and development services to engineering teams (database changes, queries, optimizations)
  • Deploy database releases for SQL Server and Sybase databases per assigned schedules
  • Improve operational efficiencies of database schema, settings, SQL queries
  • Manage and improve the backup/recovery and disaster recovery procedures
  • Monitors the core production system performance and stability
  • Research new products and upgrades that maximize efficiency and scalability
  • Document database design, integration, backup/recovery and disaster recovery processes
  • Create and maintain operational procedures and standards for database maintenance and optimization
  • Respond to and resolve issues, requests, problem tickets and major incidents providing root cause analysis support as needed
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT related field
  • Seven (7) years of SQL database management
  • Three (3) years of experience with Azure SQL experience
  • Two (2) years of experience with Azure Synapse and/or Databricks
Preferred:
  • Experience working with Azure Data Factory
  • Experience with Jira and/or Confluence
  • Experience with DevOps and SecDevOps teams and delivery methods
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT related field
  • Seven (7) years of SQL database management
  • Three (3) years of experience with Azure SQL experience
  • Two (2) years of experience with Azure Synapse and/or Databricks
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of database security design and techniques
  • Comfortable and proficient with best practice documentation standards
  • Knowledgeable of IT Operations and IT Service Management processes
  • Strong collaborative and coaching mindset to work across teams and with both junior and senior resources
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced, growth-oriented culture that changes and achieves quickly
  • Ability to self-manage and pro-actively identify and implement solutions
Physical Requirements:
  • This job operates in a professional setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Normal manual dexterity is required.
  • Normal speaking and hearing abilities to interact with others in an office environment, over telephone or other video conferencing platform.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms and continuously repeat the same hand, arm finger motion many times as in typing.
