ANNOUNCEMENT OF A VACANCY FOR THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEARTemporary Distance Learning CoordinatorSCALESomerville Center for Adult Learning Experiences Job Goal: The Distance Learning Coordinator will be tasked with increasing student engagement, learning gains, and post-placement outcomes through connecting students to online instructional programming. SCALEs distance learning coordinators ensure students can take classes anywhere and at any time. SCALE Distance Learning Coordinator will serve as an integral member of the SCALE leadership team, providing advice, counsel, coaching, and professional development support to program administrators, teachers, education and career advisors, and students.Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with Program Administrators and Education and Career advisors to strengthen remote student pathways leading to credential attainment.Works collaboratively with Program Administrators and Director of Continuing Education serving as an instructional coach to ELL and ABE departments around aligning instruction with the College and Career Readiness Standards for Adult Education (CCRSAE) and integrating digital literacy into SCALE programming.Serve as the program coordinator of CISCO IT Academy training program for SCALE students working collaboratively with IT instructors to design remote and hybrid program opportunities.Act as liaison with the SPS IT department to ensure seamless integration of SPS technology protocols.Work collaboratively with Program Administrators to identify instructional tools and materials to strengthen academic rigor and align career readiness content to include soft skills, digital literacy, and career assessments, etc. Provide academic instruction through in class and small group settings to students through use of online instructional tools.Consult and collaborate with staff around developing structures for remote student support, community engagement, social emotional referrals and learning pathways.Develop a monitoring/record system to track students job, community, and educational engagement.

Provide consultation to students about obtaining accommodations in college, technical/trade school, or employment.Manage caseload of students as needed, including HiSET, ADP, and GOAL students preparing for program completion.Develop and oversee the implementation of a digital literacy instruction through Northstar digital literacy platform Develop student orientation process introducing registering for Chromebooks, k12 emails, and accessing Google platformsOther related duties, as needed.Qualifications: Appropriate Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Educator's Licensure is required. Experience with college and career bound special education students. Ability to outreach and form long-standing relationships with colleges, community partnerships, and social service agencies.Terms of Employment: Temporary / Part TimeGrant Funded position thru 6/22/22Monday thru Friday, 8:45a.m. 12:15 p.m.
